April 3rd, 2010

1. All participants must be in the first base dugout and ready to hit 5 minutes before the start of their assigned round. Starting times will be 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm & 4:00 pm. Players not in the dugout at start of the round may be eliminated from participating.

2. Only the on-deck batter may be out of the dugout once the hitting begins.

3. Each batter in the Home Run Derby will be allowed 7 outs.
An out shall consist of any pitch that is swung upon and missed, fouled, or not hit out of the ballpark. Balls that are batted out of the ballpark in fair territory are considered home runs, and are not outs.

4. The high score during each round will be posted on the left field scoreboard.

5. Players and coaches are not allowed to ask the scorekeeper their score.

6. If a tie occurs, a tiebreaker round will be played, if time permits. Participants must score points in the qualifying round in order to make it into the tiebreaker round. If time does not allow for a tiebreaker round taking place, the home run derby committee will draw names to break a tie.

7. The top 6 players will advance to the championship round. This number may be expanded at the discretion of the committee if there is a tie.

8. In the championship round, all players will begin with 0 points. The player, who had the lowest score from the qualifying round will bat first, followed by the player with the next lowest score, etc. The player with the highest score from the qualifying round will bat last. If a tie occurs in the championship round, there will be a play-off until the first, second and third place winners are determined by highest score.

9. No foul language will be tolerated. Players will be eliminated if this type of language is used.

10. Relax; good luck and most importantly … have fun!
